Kirk Cousins made the right call to sign with Minnesota
Kirk Cousins will reportedly sign with Minnesota on a fully guaranteed 3-year, $86 million contract and Colin thinks the signing is a no-brainer.
Minnesota’s explosive weapons and arguably the best defense in the NFL give him a supporting cast that no other team could come close to matching. With Cousins, Colin thinks the Vikings are set up to win the NFC North for the foreseeable future. They probably would be without him. He clearly made the right decision.
Green Bay has wasted Aaron Rodgers’ prime
Fresh off an NFC Championship Game appearance, Minnesota looks like they’ll be even better next year after signing Kirk Cousins, and continue to separate from the rest of the NFC North, including the Packers.
The Packers have covered up roster deficiencies with Aaron Rodgers generational ability since winning the 2012 Super Bowl, but have been complacent about adding talent through free agency. Now they have a bad roster, and unlike Cleveland or San Francisco, don’t have much cap flexibility.
The Packers have been on a slow and steady to decline since winning the 2012 Super Bowl, and by failing to surround Rodgers with a competitive roster have wasted the prime of his Hall of Fame career with a roster that isn’t worthy of his talent. The NFC North is Minnesota’s division now.
