USC is coming. They’re on a roll with Sam Darnold as quarterback, and Colin thinks that even though they have 3 losses, they shouldn’t be counted out of the College Football Playoff picture. They’ll beat Notre Dame this weekend, and a Utah win over Colorado would put them into the Pac-12 Championship Game. A game they should win. Colin thinks if the committee wants the best teams in, they need to stay open to taking the Trojans. They’re not dead yet.
“Vegas has USC at 3. Do not count them out.”
The Thunder lost to the Lakers last night, and Russell Westbrook’s plan to single-handedly take on the NBA is not off to a great start. The Lakers and their roster full of B players found the open man and played a team game, while Russ dominated the ball on every possession at the end of the game for the Thunder. Colin says Westbrook’s athleticism and stat lines are blinding, but at some point, you’ve got to face the reality that his style of play drove Kevin Durant away, and it’s not going to win.
“We’ve all played with that guy at the Y. He’s often the best athlete, but you don’t win that much with him.”
Colin is tired of people bashing Andrew Luck, specifically those in Indianapolis that don’t realize how lucky they are to have him. Peyton Manning threw a ton of interceptions and didn’t win any playoff games in his first five years, and he was surrounded by Marvin Harrison and Edgerrin James.
Luck gets killed, even though he’s already won in the playoffs while surrounded by a below average roster, coach, and GM. He’s sitting out tomorrow night’s primetime game against the Steelers, and Colin is rooting for the Colts to get drilled so they can hopefully begin to appreciate just how bad their team is without Andrew Luck.
“I’m rooting for the Colts to lose by 50.”
Colin’s sources tell him that Jon Gruden is interested in the Rams job if they make a coaching change. ESPN isn’t going to pay him what he’s making now, and the Rams are similar to the Bucs’ roster he inherited. Both have top tier defenses and need a coach to elevate the offense. The Rams are dull. Gruden would immediately improve the energy.
“Jon will be interested in, and put his name in the ring for the Rams job if it came open.”
Per CNBC, living with one’s parents is the most common living arrangement for adults 18-34. Colin is shocked by this, and thinks video games and wrestling are the likeliest culprits of the condition.
