Colin has been consistent in saying that he thinks Clemson’s Deshaun Watson is the best quarterback in this year’s NFL Draft class, and he just can’t understand the lengths to which some critics in the draft process will go to point out his weaknesses. He was clearly the best quarterback at the combine, but some scouts and front office people still aren’t ready to commit. What more do you want to see?
It baffles him how a quarterback like DeShone Kizer, who had a 12-11 record as a starter at Notre Dame, a completion percentage below 60%, and was awful late in games, is touted in the pre-draft process for his measurables and “high ceiling.” In his game film from this year, his measurables and upside looked terrible.
I’m watching this draft and everyone keeps telling me Deshaun Watson has a “low ceiling.”
Hey, a “low ceiling” is a luxury item for all the teams that can get Deshaun Watson. Here’s what you get. Maturity. Stability. Success. Workaholic. Production.
Don’t worry about the ceiling, get guys who are reliable.”
Snapchat just went public and made 300 twenty-somethings into instant millionaires. Colin observed that when tech companies make their employees rich they don’t just buy another house and a boat like Wall street brokers who get a fat bonus. Millenials often better their econnomies by starting new companies that instead of taking the money and socking it away.
Colin compared LeBron James to the Snapchat because wherever he goes he doesn’t just collect a massive paycheck, he literally betters the economy wherever he plays. He’s packing the bars in the Flats in downtown Cleveland for crying out loud. Most max players just draw paychecks and go to the bank, LeBron grows economies. No other athlete comes close to doing that.
“LeBron is the human Snapchat. He creates economies that didn’t exist.”
