Dallas made the right decision by ditching Dez
The Cowboys cut Dez Bryant today, and Colin thinks it was the right decision. Once an elite wide receiver, Bryant’s dramatically decreased production didn’t justify his $16.5 million yearly salary, or the distractions he caused. Without Bryant’s looming presence and locker room distraction will also help Dak Prescott’s continued development.
Lakers process is working, it just doesn’t have a catchy name
The Lakers missed the playoffs, but Colin thinks they made some important strides in their rebuild, this season. Not only did Lonzo Ball show he can play point in the NBA, Brandon Ingram also took a huge leap in his second year. They also found rookie steal Kyle Kuzma, and Julius Randle went from malcontent to key contributor. In the difficult Western Conference, the Lakers put together a respectable second half and Head Coach Luke Walton proved he belongs as an NBA head coach.
They still need to sign key veteran free agents before they can seriously be considered a contender, but this season should help convince potential targets that they have some key pieces. The Lakers process is working, even if it doesn’t have a catchy name.
