UFC President Dana White stopped by The Herd for an exclusive interview with Colin to set the record straight about a potential Conor McGregor/Floyd Mayweather Boxing/MMA super fight. White was fired up about recent statements made by Mayweather where he proposed taking home $100 million and McGregor $15 million slpit of a potential purse. Mayweather also made slights at McGregor by calling himself the “A” party of the negotiations and inferring that McGregor is the lesser of the two stars.
White was not holding back and laid into Mayweather on several fronts. He took exception to his comments implying he was the “A” draw to the fight, citing his recent lackluster Pay Per View numbers, while touting McGregor’s recent Pay Per View successes, including the MSG event. He also made a hard-counter offer of $25 million per fighter, not the 100/15 split. There are obstacles to making this fight happen, but if it does happen, it was made clear today that it will be done by Dana White.
“We’ll pay you $25 million, we’ll pay Conor $25 million. And we’ll talk about Pay Per View and a certain number. There’s a real offer.”
Out of the playoff teams remaining, Colin thinks one is overvalued and one is undervalued. Given his love of Tom Brady, it may surprise that he thinks the Patriots are the most overvalued team. Mostly, he doesn’t believe in their defense, and he pointed out that they’ve only played one elite quarterback on the year, Russell Wilson, and he beat them. And while Brady is still incredible, they don’t have any deep threat with Rob Gronkowski out for the year.
On the flip side, Colin thinks the Chiefs are the most underrated team left. Andy Reid is an elite coach, they have an impressive overall roster, explosive playmakers in Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce, they lead the league in turnover +/-, and Alex Smith has proven in a handful of playoff starts that he won’t turn the ball over. No one is talking about the Chiefs, but they could be a serious threat.
“They have played a string of steaming garbage at quarterback. New England’s overvalued.”
