Bryce Harper shouldn’t be suspended for charging the mound
Bryce Harper went viral with his mound charge and subsequent slug fest with Giants reliever Hunter Strickland. Harper will be suspended for the fight, and Colin disagrees with the rule that automatically suspends a batter for charging the mound.
He thinks an occasional player like Strickland shouldn’t be able to target an everyday player like Harper because Harper’s absence disproportionately effects his team more than Strickland.
Pitchers automatically suspended for throwing at players. Batters not suspended ever for rushing the mound and fighting.”
LeBron is guaranteed to make the next two to three Finals, at a minimum
While the basketball universe is focused on what will happen when the Warriors and Cavs meet for their third straight Finals, today in The Herd, Colin looked ahead at the distinct possibility that LeBron could continue his Finals streak into double digits.
He thinks LeBron could get to four or five more Finals because of the Cavs sore nucleus is committed long term and LeBron has shown the ability to effectively recruit aging veteran talent which should allow him to continue to blow through the East. At the very least, LeBron is a lock to make the next two. Colin believes LeBron’s Cavs will outlast the Warriors, because superteams have a track record of breaking up as fast as they get together.
The only thing standing in LeBron’s way of getting to 4 or 5 straight would be Boston aggressively trying to move their considerable assets to acquire proven veteran talent, and also try to land Gordon Hayward in free agency. If the Celtics choose to stand pat, continue to amass young talent, and wait until LeBron falls off, they’ll be waiting for a while.
You would be delusional not to have them in, for a minimum, the next two Finals.”
