Raiders’ Punter Marquette King has broken the mold for NFL punters.
While NFL punters have historically been white and built like a bag of pizza rolls, King is one of a handful of African-American punters that have kicked in the NFL, and is shredded like a star wide receiver.
He also doesn’t hesitate to throw down a killer celebration when he routinely unleashes a 60-yard bomb of a punt. It’s almost like he’s a real player.
In yesterday’s 38-24 home win over Buffalo, King was front and center again. After drawing a roughing the kicker penalty on a punt, King picked up the penalty flag and performed a little dance number before spiking the flag.
His interpretive dance drew a flag of its own.
King took to Twitter after the game and posted a tweet blaming the penalty on a Bills player who directed the ref’s attention to the celebration. King labeled the Buffalo special teamer as a ‘snitch.’

Oakland Head Coach Jack Del Rio wasn’t mad. He laughed off the penalty in the postgame press conference, explaining that King was apologetic and unaware his flag dance would draw a penalty.
It’s easy to let it slide when your team is 10-2 and steamrolling into the playoffs.
