It’s already been a long year for the Louisville basketball program as they continue to deal with the fallout from the recruiting scandal that allegedly involved funneling $100,000 to 5-star recruit Brian Bowen, and resulted in the firing of long time coach Rick Pitino.
Obviously the scandal is easy target practice for rowdy student sections on the road, but Pitt coach Kevin Stallings wasn’t above reminding a heckling Cardinals fan about the cash payments while getting blown out in Louisville, yesterday. He actually went there.
“At least we didn’t pay our guys $100,000.”
Ouch. Sorry Louisville fans. It’s gonna be hard to talk effective trash to opponents this year when you have this low hanging fruit out there.
