The instant replay reversal of Steeler tight end Jesse James’ apparent game-winning touchdown catch against the Patriots probably caused more than one remote control to fly through a TV in the Pittsburgh area.
It’s the latest edition of the league definition of a catch, conflicting with what peoples’ eyes tell them is a catch. In a video that’s certain to only stoke the burning rage in the Steel City this morning, the NFL released its official explanation for why the call was reversed.
The voice you hear that sounds like pre-flight safety instructions is NFL VP of Officiating Al Riveron, and don’t watch this near any Steeler co-workers, it’s only going to end in a work safety issue.
Rules are rules.
