A long shadow will loom over the Big Ten’s Media Day on Monday following the deaths of Sam Foltz and former Michigan State Punter Michael Sadler, who were tragically killed in a car accident late Saturday night.
According to the Lincoln Journal Star, citing reports from the Waukesha, Wisconsin PD, Foltz was riding as a passenger in the Mercedes driven by Sadler as they returned from a high school kicking camp in Wisconsin where they were instructors when the accident occurred.
Sadler apparently lost control of the vehicle during a heavy rainstorm and ran off the road, striking a tree. Both Sadler and Foltz were pronounced dead at the scene. A third passenger in the vehicle, LSU Senior kicker Colby Delahoussaye, only sustained minor injuries from the accident.
