Stefon Diggs’ game-winning 61-yard TD catch to beat the Saints sent Viking fans into frenzied delirium. One fan celebrated the catch so hard he actually went down with what, in NFL terms, would be described as a season-ending non-contact injury.
When Brendan Koop lost it during the ‘Minneapolis Miracle,’ he heard a loud pop in the back of his leg that he described to his daughter as feeling like a bowling ball was dropped on it. Even while writhing in excruciating agony, the die-hard Vikings fan had his priorities straight:
“All I cared about at the moment was whether he stepped out of bounds and whether there was any flags.”
When asked if he would trade the Vikings win for an intact tendon, the father of 8 (!!!) didn’t hesitate:
“Yes, I would do it again to make sure that they had that play,”
Even though the injury will require surgery, expect him to play through pain and watch the Vikings try to punch their ticket to the Super Bowl with a win over the Eagles in the NFC Championship. He’s a gamer.
