Golden State directed plenty of trash talk at LeBron James during the NBA Finals when they were leading the series 3 – 1. Draymond Green questioned his manhood during Game 4. Klay and Mychal Thompson pulled a father/son tag team on LeBron, calling him too sensitive. Even Ayesha Curry got in on the act, mocking LeBron on Twitter for saying he was “taking the high road” in declining to respond to the comments. In the end, LeBron is having the last laugh like Andy Dufresne in an NBA version of “Shawshank Redemption”.
Today, fresh off carrying Cleveland to its first major sports championship in 52 years, LeBron expertly trolled the Warriors before leaving for his off season getaway to Zihuatanejo.
When the Cavs arrived at the airport to a massive crowd of Cleveland fans, he emerged from the team plane holding the Larry O’Brien championship trophy while wearing an “Ultimate Warrior” t-shirt. Although the shirt directly referenced the popular 80’s wrestler (RIP), it seems obvious it was a thinly veiled victory lap intended for Golden State.

Today on Speak for Yourself, Jason and Colin discussed whether LeBron’s shirt was a coincidence, or masters level trolling directed at the Warriors.
Both Jason and Colin agreed the shirt was LeBron getting the last laugh. Jason said Steph Curry and Warriors brought it on themselves.
“Steph Curry deserves this. LeBron has been chewing on the Steph Curry hype the entire season. Guys like me missed it. I think Colin kind of saw it coming, that’s why he’s been arguing about who’s more valuable. LeBron, remember had the comments about value. They’re tired of the Steph Curry narrative, and some how he’s the face of the NBA.”
Colin agreed that LeBron’s Ultimate Warrior shirt was trolling off the top rope, after a Finals where he occupied prime real estate in their head.
“I think he mentally got into their head. I think he used them as chess pieces. I think it worked.”
To the victor goes the trolling.
