Kevin Durant is a world champion with the Warriors, but the Finals MVP surprisingly made a huge unforced social media error when he sent out some tweets trashing his former coach Billy Donovan and the Thunder, last night.
In response to user who questioned why he left the Thunder, Durant responded in the third person by saying “he” wasn’t a fan of the organization, the coach and the roster, aside from Russell Westbrook.
The tweets were quickly deleted by Durant, and many internet sleuths are speculating that he responded in the third person because he responds to critics with an anonymous burner account, but forgot to switch to the account in this instance. The result was Durant broadcasting his criticism to his almost 17 million Twitter followers.
Durant has regularly fired back at critics on social media, but has never directly scorched his former team like this flame job. It looks like he stepped in it here.
As the old saying goes, the only way to avoid a Twitter disaster like this is don’t tweet. KD may be an MVP, but he’s no 007.
