Only Johnny Football knows if he’s hit rock bottom personally, but his football career certainly has. Yesterday, TMZ broke the news that the NFL suspended Manziel four games for violating the NFL substance abuse policy.

The suspension is somewhat anti-climactic because Manziel isn’t even on an NFL roster. His NFL stock is Chernobyl levels radioactive and his prospects of his playing in the NFL this year are slightly better than you, the person reading this article.
The suspension comes after a week where Manziel’s father publicly called his son a “druggie”, and said that the best place for him right now is jail.
NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley recently recounted a conversation he had with Manziel in Las Vegas, where he told Manziel he needed to get control of his life.
He told Manziel, “I said, ‘Johnny, man you’re screwing up your life, man. I’m not your dad, I’m not gonna try to lecture you. I’m just telling you I had a brother who passed away at a young age. Drugs and alcohol got him. It’s gonna end like a bad movie.”

Ironically, the conversation took place only hours before Manziel was involved in an altercation in a Vegas nightclub.

Manziel told TMZ that he plans to get completely sober today, July 1, right after he gets back from renting a beach house in Cabo.
