Through 2 games of the 2016 World Series the story has been pitching. And Kyle Schwarber.
Cleveland starter Corey Kluber sawed through the Cubs lineup with 9 strikeouts in the Indians’ Game 1 win. Last night it was Cubs’ hurler Jake Arrieta’s turn.
Arrieta was untouchable in no-hitting the Cleveland lineup through 5 1/3 innings, and “Cinderella Man” Kyle Schwarber continued writing his Hollywood movie script with 2 hits and 2 RBI, en route to the Cubs’ series tying 5-1 win. Schwarber has gone from rehabbing a knee injury in the Arizona Fall League with Tim Tebow to World Series star in a week.
This whole Kyle Schwarber story is just UNREAL.

Chicago jumped on Cleveland starter Trevor Bauer for a run in the 1st inning and knocked him out of the game after 3 2/3. It was Bauer’s first start since he was pulled from Game 3 of the ALCS in Toronto after his drone-sliced pinky exploded in a bloody mess.
After adding a run in the 3rd, the Cubs extended their lead with a 3-run 5th inning, sparked by Ben Zobrist’s RBI triple, effectively crushing any hopes of a potential Cleveland comeback.

The series moves to Chicago for Game 3. It will mark the first World Series game in front of the Wrigley faithful since the Cubs last appearance in 1945. The ivy should be shaking.
