Ever since he won the starting quarterback job in Washington, Kirk Cousins has been criticized for being a game-manager, but definitely not a franchise quarterback. With each passing week this season, it’s becoming harder and harder to levy that criticism.
Last night, Cousins continued his hot 2016 by out dueling Aaron Rodgers in a 42-24 destruction of the Packers in primetime. Captain Kirk torched a hobbled Packers defense to the tune of 375 yards passing and 3 touchdowns, without throwing an interception. He’s currently one of 3 quarterbacks in the league with over 3,000 yards passing.
Both Pierre Garçon and Jamison Crowder each broke the 100-yard receiving mark and caught a touchdown. Garçon’s score came on a 70-yard bomb from Cousins, into the wind, to start the 4th quarter, after Green Bay had pulled within 5. The long score put the game out of reach for good. It didn’t look like a throw a “game-manager” makes.

Washington sits at 6-3, and Cousins and the offense are rolling. After the game, Cousins, who has also become a one-man Vine meme, followed up his past hits, such as “You like that?”, and “Oooooooeeeeee”, with his latest gem, “How you like me now?”
Cousins’ performance in the win had Washington owner Dan Snyder dancing in the press box. I guess that’s what you call this.
