Draymond Green’s Playoffs long groin hunting campaign came to a screeching halt on Sunday. The NBA announced Green will be suspended for Game 5 of the Finals, after his below the belt punch to LeBron James in the fourth quarter of Game 4 was upgraded to a flagrant foul.
The league upgrading the punch to a flagrant foul puts Green over the accumulated flagrant foul points limit. The result is a one game suspension.
A frustrated James initiated the altercation by stepping over Green after the two were tangled up. LeBron was assessed a technical for his role, following league review.
NBA Senior Executive V.P. of Basketball Operations, and chief disciplinarian, Kiki VanDeWegh released a statement explaining the league’s suspension of Green.

Although Green’s suspension comes with the Warriors firmly in command of the series, 3 – 1, his agitating presence will be missed as the Warriors attempt to clinch back to back titles on Monday.
