Last night, Draymond Green and LeBron continued their on-court beef that dates back to last year’s NBA Finals between the Warriors and Cavs. Green was suspended from Game 5 of last year’s Finals after LeBron baited him into throwing a punch. Green’s absence in Game 5 helped pave the way for the Cavs 3-1 comeback and championship win. It doesn’t take Dr. Phil to figure out these two don’t like each other.
The Warriors smashed the Cavs last night at Oracle, 126-91, but the Green/James subplot continued to develop during the second quarter, when Green picked up a Flagrant Foul I for taking down LeBron as he dribbled down the court in transition.
Cavs fans will say LeBron “Sold” the call, while Warriors fans say he flopped. Eye of the beholder. Green was furious over the call and even mocked LeBron on the sidelines for flopping.
The hate is real between these two teams and the inevitable Finals grudge-match looks like it will be a classic.
It’s actually refreshing to see two teams hate each other this much.
