This morning, news broke that the Rockets have completed a deal to acquire Chris Paul from the Clippers. Paul reportedly informed the Clippers that he intended to sign with Houston, so L.A. agreed to the trade to salvage some assets.
Some have already questioned how James Harden and Chris Paul will be able to co-exist, considering both are among the most ball dominant guards in the NBA.
Colin thinks Harden and Paul can function together offensively, and Paul’s defense will be a huge upgrade for Houston.
He also believes the addition of Paul makes the Rockets the third best team in the NBA – behind the Warriors and Cavs – and if GM Daryl Morey can acquire Paul George – which he is reportedly working on – they could be even scarier.
The threat of Houston acquiring George could spur teams like the Celtics and Lakers to become more aggressive in their pursuit of the Indiana forward.
It’s a super team league, the rest of the NBA teams are just living in it. The Rockets just joined the club, and they might not be done yet.
“The Houston Rockets are the third best team in the NBA with two legitimate stars.”
