After beating the Redskins on Monday Night Football, Andy Reid’s Chiefs are undefeated and Colin has them ranked atop his Herd Hierarchy. Today, he called Philadelphia the dumbest sports city in America for running Andy Reid out of town after 5 NFC Championship games and a Super Bowl appearance.
Reid’s 61% career win percentage is better than Bill Parcells, Mike Holmgren, and Tom Coughlin, but wasn’t good enough to keep his job after one bad season in Philly. Since leaving, he’s won 11 or more games in 3 of 4 years in K.C., and has a perfect 4-0 record this season, with a team that looks primed to contend for a Super Bowl.
Colin sees a pattern in the “City of Brotherly” love. Terry Francona also got run out of town after an unsuccessful tenure with the Phillies. Since leaving he’s won two World Series in Boston, has the Indians primed to contend for a title, and hasn’t had a losing record in 14 years. Villanova coach Jay Wright was also constantly berated until he won a national title, despite being among the top coaches in college basketball.
Here’s Colin on Philly. He’ll be less popular than Santa Claus after this rant.
