Kobe Bryant is set to have his number(s) retired by the Lakers, which got Colin thinking about the pecking order of the all-time franchise greats.
Today, in The Herd, he pointed out that the Lakers have had enough great players to put together multiple “Mount Rushmores,” and their second would be better than most franchises first. His all-time L.A. first team would consist of Magic, Kareem, Kobe, and Jerry West.
His second team of Shaq, Wilt, Elgin Baylor and James Worthy isn’t bad either.
He thinks Magic is the greatest player in franchise history, but Bryant is the greatest talent.
