Today in The Herd, Colin went off on NBA players sitting out national TV games. He thinks the recent talking point that players taking healthy scratches due to increased knowledge about science is ridiculous, and it isn’t fooling the public for a second.
Colin thinks players sitting out national television games is a way for players to stick it to the league for having the top teams like the Cavs and Warriors over scheduled on national TV games because they have limited ratings draws.
As far as Colin is concerned, this isn’t about science, it’s about math, and more specifically money.
“The Warriors now are great, and their travel schedule is brutal, and the league is putting them on TV constantly, and they are basically saying, “We’re gonna stick it you. You’re using us for your ratings and your money, we’re gonna sit out some TV games.”
Then LeBron gets mad at it and says, “If you can do it, I can do it, and I’m gonna get Kyrie and Kevin Love to do it.” And the Spurs are like, “If you’re doing it, then I’m doing it.”
That’s all this is, it’s a big shell game. They’re trying to pass it off as science. This is not science, it’s math. It’s all about money.”
