Kevin Durant is headed to the Finals with a Warriors juggernaut just one year after losing in last year’s Western Conference Finals as a member of the Thunder.
Since jumping ship for the Warriors, KD has been called everything from a ring chaser, to heartless for joining a team that won 73 games and a title before he joined the squad.
Today, in The Herd, Colin defended Durant and said KD unquestionably made the right decision to bolt for the bay. He argues that it’s hypocritical for critics to label him as disloyal when the modern NBA is built on player mobility and owners protecting their own self interests. Durant hardly invented the concept.
A year later, Durant is happy in Golden State, playing with better teammates, and headed to the Finals again. He shouldn’t feel bad about it. He made the right decision.
We crush players for not winning titles. Yet when they pursue titles, we crush them again.”
