Last night, LeBron James put the Cavs franchise on his back and dragged them to the Finals with another jaw dropping playoff performance in Game 7, on the road in Boston. While LeBron has been adding to his playoff legend with mythic performances and clutch shots this offseason, Kevin Durant has been all but invisible late in the fourth quarter of two close Western Conference Finals losses to Houston. All while surrounded by a supporting cast of all stars.
Despite the growing contingent of media and fans claiming that Durant had surpassed LeBron as the best overall player in the NBA following Golden State’s Finals win over Cleveland, James’ legendary playoff run has shown KD is still a distant second to The King.
If the Warriors lose Game 7 tonight, and Durant continues to be invisible late in the game, Colin doesn’t ever want to hear KD’s name uttered in the same sentence as LeBron ever again when discussing the league’s best player. The debate should be permanently discontinued. No more excuses.
