Tom Brady looks like the front runner to win the 2017 NFL MVP Award, but a vocal contingent believes that Rams running back Todd Gurley should get the award after racking up over 2,000 total yards and leading the NFL in TD’s for a team that has gone from irrelevance to Super Bowl contender.
Colin thinks Gurley is an unbelievable talent, but in today’s NFL a running back is nowhere near as valuable to his team as the quarterback. Gurley is arguably the third most valuable person on his own team behind head coach Sean McVay and Jared Goff.
Critics argue that the MVP is nothing but a glorified quarterback award, and Colin is fine with that. It’s a quarterback driven league. This year the best quarterback in the NFL is Brady. He’s the MVP.
