Tom Brady effectively ended the debate over the greatest football player of all-time when he won his 5th Super Bowl over the Falcons, and Colin thinks if Brady can beat the Eagles and win his 6th title, he’ll surpass Michael Jordan as the greatest team athlete of all-time.
Even though Jordan defenders always point to his undefeated Finals record when his greatness is challenged, the teams he beat to do so weren’t nearly as impressive as those that Brady has taken down. Brady has beaten the ‘Greatest Show on Turf’ Rams, a championship Seattle roster, and denied Peyton Manning of multiple Super Bowls with the Colts. Jordan beat the aging Lakers, the Suns, and Utah twice.
Colin thinks Jordan’s unparalleled marketing campaign during his career has created a mythology of perfection that still follows him in retirement, but with another Super Bowl, and unbiased comparison of the two careers would go to Brady.
