A Saint Louis Cardinals fan narrowly avoided serious injury when she was grazed by a bullet while sitting in the stands at Busch Stadium during the eighth inning of the Cardinals/Brewers game last night.
According to the Saint Louis Post Dispatch, citing a Saint Louis Police Department report, the woman felt a sharp pain in her arm, and noticed a hole in her jacket. After removing the jacket, she noticed her arm was bleeding. She was seated near the Cardinals’ dugout.
54-year-old Todd Porter and his son were seated nearby and witnessed the accidental shooting. Porter said the woman shouted, “Wow! I Think I’ve been shot,” when she was hit. She eventually found the slug underneath her seat and left to get medical attention.
Police reportedly responded to a shots-fired call around the time of the shooting in an area close to the stadium. The origin of the bullet is still unknown at this time.
If you go watch the Cardinals, bring your baseball glove and a kevlar vest.
